Rain forces IPL final to be moved to Monday

Heavy rain in Ahmedabad forced the 2023 Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) final between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium to be postponed without a ball being bowled on Sunday.
A reserve day is in place for the competition decider, meaning the two teams will now try again on Monday evening.
Wet weather had been forecast in the build-up, but not to the degree of what unfolded in the hours building up to the game when swirling rain and even hail was reported in the vicinity.
Standing umpires Nitin Menon and Rod Tucker waited for as late as possible before eventually deciding to call off the game.
The hosts are defending champions and bidding to defend the crown they won 12 months ago, while they are up against one of the most formidable teams in IPL history, an opponent that is playing in their 10th final and seeking a record-joining fifth crown.
Thanks to all the fans for their continued patience and support ????????
