Marsh, Yadav star as Super Giants upset RCB in IPL
Mitchell Marsh and Prince Yadav starred for the bottom of the table Lucknow Super Giants as they stunned the high flying Royal Challengers Bengaluru by picking up a nine-run DLS win in their Tata IPL match at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Thursday night.
Marsh struck a sparkling century, slamming nine sixes and nine fours in his 56-ball 111 to power his team to 209-3 batting first, which ended up setting RCB 213 to win on the DLS method, after a couple of rain delays in the Super Giants innings saw the match reduced to 19-overs a piece.

In response RCB, who needed a win to move top of the log, lost key wickets at important stages of their innings, which led them to finish just short on 203-6.
Yadav proved to be the star bowler for the Super Giants, picking up 3-33 in his four overs, including the prized scalp of Virat Kohli in his first over.
At the start of play RCB won the toss and chose to bowl, but Marsh got his team off to the perfect start, slamming 58 off 24 balls during the powerplay to power his side to a strong 68 off the first six overs.
Marsh continued on his merry way, but fellow opener Arshin Kulkarni, 17 off 24 balls (1x4), struggled, and was finally first to fall in the 10th over, hitting Krunal Pandya straight to Rajat Patidar at cover, with the score 95-1.
Marsh then received perfect support from Nicholas Pooran, 38 off 23 (4x4; 1x6), as they combined for a 70-run second-wicket stand off 41 balls.

Fellow Aussie Josh Hazelwood finally accounted for Marsh at the start of the 17th over, having him caught at deep point by Jacob Bethell.
But that just brought in captain Rishabh Pant who absolutely dominated the closing overs, slamming 32 off 10 balls (4x4; 2x6) to get his side over the 200-run mark.
The RCB chase got off to the worst possible start, as Mohammed Shami had Bethell (4) caught by Yadav at deep third man in the first over, followed by Yadav bowling Kohli for a second-ball duck with an absolute jaffer to leave them on 9-2.

But captain Patidar, 61 off 31 balls (3x4; 6x6), and Devdutt Padikkal, 34 off 25 (3x4; 1x6), kept the chase alive with a 95-run third-wicket partnership.
But both fell during a quick three-wicket blitz, with Yadav getting the breakthrough catching Padikkal off his own bowling, and from 112-5 RCB were behind the rate, and despite cameos from Tim David, 40 off 17 (4x4; 3x6), Krunal Pandya, 28* off 16 (2x4; 2x6), and Romario Shepherd, 23* off 15 (3x4; 1x6), they couldn’t get over the line.
