The Momentum Multiply Titans and DP World Lions were forced to share the spoils after their CSA T20 Challenge match was washed out, after persistent rain throughout Sunday led to the teams shaking hands just over an hour after the match was supposed to start at SuperSport Park in Centurion.

It is a disappointing result, as a cracking encounter between the two fierce Highveld rivals was on the cards, while it has also dealt a hammer blow to both teams hopes of reaching the competition playoffs.

The Titans are currently fifth on the log on 10 points, thanks to the two gained from the washout, but with just one pool match remaining for them they need either Western Province or the Dolphins above them to lose all of their remaining games, and win their final match with a bonus point to stand a chance of sneaking in.

For the Lions, after losing their opening three matches, they finally pick up two points, but are still rock bottom of the log, and with three pool games remaining they also need a very unlikely run of results, and other teams to slip up, to stand any chance of making the playoffs.

This coming week the Lions face the Dragons on Wednesday and Western Province on Friday, while the Titans play their last pool match against the Dolphins, also on Friday.
