There’s something poetic about a captain returning to steer the ship he once sailed.

Lehlohonolo Seema, a name etched into the soul of Bloemfontein Celtic, is back and this time as the head coach of Siwelele FC, the club reborn from the purchase of SuperSport United’s Betway Premiership status.

A former Celtic captain who wore the armband with pride, Seema now returns to guide a new generation under the Siwelele banner.

Since hanging up his boots, Seema has quietly built a reputation as one of the most tactically astute minds in South African football.

At Chippa United, he steadied a sinking ship during a turbulent campaign. At Golden Arrows, he gave DStv Diski Challenge graduates chance and played fearless football. At Sekhukhune United, he left the club in the top four before parting ways in March 2025 and was replaced by Eric Tinkler.

Seema’s first assignment is a friendly against newly-promoted Orbit College, a tune-up before the real test begins next month.
