Chippa United and Polokwane City clash in battle to revive season

Chippa United will be out to snap their three-match winless streak in the Betway Premiership when they lock horns with a struggling Polokwane City at the Buffalo City Stadium on Saturday evening.
Kick-off is 8pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)
CURRENT FORM
Chippa United are currently 11th place in the league standings and have not managed to grab a win in their last three league games. Their most recent fixture was a 1-0 loss at home to Orlando Pirates.
Prior to that, the Eastern Cape side played to a goalless draw away to Richards Bay and lost 1-0 at home to Sekhukhune United back in February.
Meanwhile, Polokwane City were flying high in the Betway Premiership but have hit a serious dip in form, having gone five matches without a win. Their midweek fixture against Golden Arrows saw them lose 1-0 at home as they sit in sixth position in the log.
WHAT WAS SAID
Chilli Boys coach Thabo September is confident he’ll keep his position, despite club boss Siviwe Mpengesi known for sacking coaches when a run of poor form takes place.
“We're not playing the way we'd want to play but I am here and I am comfortable, having spent just over 18 months. I am looking forward to a longer term but it's football, at the end of the day I can't control other things,” says September ahead of the match against Rise and Shine.
“We're targeting about 35 points. Looking at how tight the log is now, if we get 35 points, I think we will definitely be in the top eight.”
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Sinoxolo Kwayiba, Chippa United – With the midfielder poised for a move away from the club according to reports, he will be in the spotlight in this clash to possibly add to his tally of six goals in the Betway Premiership.
Cole Alexander, Polokwane City – The experienced midfielder started in Rise and Shine’s match against Arrows and put up an impressive performance in the middle of the park. The match against the Chilli Boys will present an opportunity for him to dictate matters again and possibly come out with a better result this time around.
