Lamontville Golden Arrows will look to derail Mamelodi Sundowns' unbeaten start to the 2025-26 Betway Premiership season at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi on Wednesday as the two sides meet for the 49th time in the league.

Kick-off is at 3pm CAT.

CURRENT FORM

Golden Arrows were handed a defeat in the dying moments of their clash with Sekhukhune United on Saturday, going down 1-0 courtesy of a stoppage-time winner from Bradley Grobler.

The loss was Arrows’ third straight in the Betway Premiership after a promising start, which saw them snatch two wins from their first four fixtures.

Abafana Bes'thende sit 11th on the table after seven games, having managed two wins, one draw and four losses.

Mamelodi Sundowns put on a dominant display against Durban City on Saturday, winning 3-1 with goals from Marcelo Allende, Tashreeq Matthews and Iqraam Rayners.

Masandawana are yet to lose in the Betway Premiership and sit second on the log, one point behind Sekhukhune United.

Sundowns have won five and drawn three of the eight league games and are looking to catch Sekhukhune at the summit of the league while maintaining their unbeaten status.

WHAT WAS SAID

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso hit back at fans following their criticism of Masandawana’s start to the league campaign.

“We will work hard to try to please them as much as possible. But the fans also need to understand the moments that the team [lives], and every moment is different from another one,” said Cardoso.

“I think we are moving forward, but we passed the difficult moment that [has] to do with a lot of instability that happens in the team. And because we are in a very strong [position] with a very strong commitment between the people that are inside the club.”
