Sundowns see off stubborn Magesi in Limpopo
Mamelodi Sundowns bagged back-to-back victories in the Betway Premiership this week following a hard-fought 2-0 victory against Magesi at the Seshego Stadium on Wednesday night.
The reigning league champions were made to work for their three points on away soil, while Magesi put up a spirited fight in the first-half.
Nevertheless, goals by Jayden Adams and Peter Shalulile ultimately secured Downs the victory on the night.

As expected, Sundowns asserted themselves on the ball early on with Magesi reduced to defending their quarters.
However, it was Magesi who created the first notable scoring chance of the game after Thabang Sibanyoni’s close range header was saved by Ronwen Williams inside the six-yard area.
Despite Sundowns’ dominance on the possession count, Magesi continued to be proactive in attack, as seen with attempts by Wonderboy Makhubu and Kgomotso Mosadi midway through the first half.
Makhubu continued to be Magesi’s attacker-in-chief throughout the first half and had the Downs defence blocking his attempts at goal.
In what was a half to forget for Sundowns, Magesi remained resolute against their possession heavy opponents, while they looked more likely to open the scoring as well.
The Tshwane side flew out of the blocks during the early stages of the new half, with Bathusi Aubaas and Adams making their presence felt with attempts at goal.
The latter came close to breaking the deadlock after seeing his headed effort going wide of the mark from close range.
Sundowns made a host of attacking substitutions after the hour-mark with the hope of changing the complexion of the tie, as Thapelo Morena, Marcelo Allende and Tashreeq Matthews made their way onto the pitch.
After a sustained bit of pressure, Sundowns broke the deadlock through Adams in the 73rd minute following a corner.
With the ball swung into the area, Adams found himself in the right place at the right time to guide home a right footed shot from the middle of the goal.
