The first round of the 2025 Carling Knockout will see the PSL's Big Three, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns battle for the quarterfinal spots. Catch all the action live on SuperSport.

Record 13-time winners, Chiefs, will travel to the world-class DHL Cape Town Stadium, where they are scheduled to face 2023 champions Stellenbosch FC on Sunday.

Amakhosi are bidding to win this tournament for the first time since 2010, having ended their 10-year trophy drought by winning last season's Nedbank Cup.

However, this is the tournament that has proved elusive for Chiefs' arch-rivals, Orlando Pirates, who are set to host Siwelele FC at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

The Buccaneers have won the South African league cup once, having clinched it in 2011 when it was known as the Telkom Knockout at the time, and this was part of Bucs' record-breaking double-treble success.

Meanwhile, Sundowns, who are four-time winners, will also bank on home ground advantage as they welcome Marumo Gallants at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

The action will start on Friday with Polokwane City travelling to KwaZulu-Natal, where they are expected to take on the Betway Premiership's surprise package, Durban City, at the Chatsworth Stadium.

The last game of the weekend will be between the 1992 winners, AmaZulu FC, and the defending champions, Magesi FC, at the 2010 FIFA World Cup venue, Moses Mabhida Stadium.
