On the 72nd hole of regulation play at The K Club in Straffan, County Kildare, Rory McIlroy was trailing by two shots.

With everything on the line, he drained a 28-foot eagle putt — a clutch, curling shot that electrified the crowd and forced a playoff against Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren.

What followed that putt was one of the loudest roars ever heard in golf - just have a listen for yourself...

The win was McIlroy’s second Irish Open title, coming nine years after his first in 2016 and just months after completing his career Grand Slam at the Masters.

He described the experience as “an incredible homecoming” and said, “Moments like this are the ones you remember after your career is over.”
