Just four minutes post-halftime, Imaad Hendricks broke the deadlock with a close-range finish. Substitutes proved pivotal as Neo Bohloko not only doubled the lead in the 72nd minute but also assisted Hendricks for his second goal, before adding another himself to complete a dazzling display of football.

In other matches, Mamelodi Sundowns began their year with a 1-1 draw against Sekhukhune United. Promising striker Bennet Mokoena scored for Sundowns in the 65th minute, securing his ninth goal of the campaign, but the team could not hold onto its lead.
