Kaizer Chiefs star Dillan Solomons and SuperSport United goalkeeper Washington Arubi have urged their sides to get back to winning ways in the DStv Premiership this weekend, as the PSL giants prepare to do battle at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-Off is at 5:30pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)

Current form

Both Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport have been battling to yield positive results in the last couple of months and go into their next game in desperate need of maximum points.

Sitting in 10th position, Amakhosi are currently on a three-match losing streak in the league and last tasted victory in a 1-0 result against Golden Arrows on the 5th of March.

While Chiefs are without a win in their last five DStv Premiership games, the Tshwane-based side are winless in their last nine league outings. Gavin Hunt’s side suffered a 2-0 loss against Chippa United in their most recent fixture while they occupy 5th place on the table.

WHAT WAS SAID....

“There’s a lot of things that motivates you, not just being tenth on the log. There’s players that want to play, and that’s motivating you,” said Chiefs defender Dillan Solomons.

“One win and you are back in the top eight. It’s tight in that section, but that’s not the aim of the club, to be in the top eight. It’s never been Chiefs’ aim to be in the top eight.

“That is down on us. We haven’t been at our best for a long period of time. Hopefully, we can turn things around.”

“Sometimes in life you have to create your own luck,” said SuperSport United goalkeeper Washington Arubi.

“We are positive that one day we will turn the corner and we’re looking forward to this game against Kaizer Chiefs because it’s a big game for both teams. We’re coming from losses and both of us are wounded but the team that will put in more effort is the team that will win the game.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Kaizer Chiefs: Siyethemba Sithebe – In facing the likes of Grant Margeman and Siphesihle Ndlovu in midfield, Sithebe will no doubt be in for a busy day at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday. The 31-year-old will have to be alert to SSU’s efficient passing patterns with the view of breaking up play in the middle of the park.

SuperSport United: Bradley Grobler – With SSU in need of inspiration, the prolific goal getter could look to the coming weekend to reignite his goal scoring instincts. Grobler could also look to exploit a leaky Chiefs defence that has conceded in each of their last three league encounters.
