Legetafo shock for Sidama, Ethiopia Coffee defeat for Mekelakeya

There was plenty of coffee in Saturday fixtures of the BetKing Ethiopia Premier League with both Coffee teams in action, joy for Ethiopia Coffee and despair for Sidama Coffee.

Legetafo Legedadi defied their relegation to produce one of the upsets of the season when they beat Sidama Coffee 3-2 Saturday.

However, Ethiopia Coffee produced one of their better performances to beat Mekelakeya 2-1

Carlos Demetew, often the bright light for Legetafo Legedadi 's forgettable season gave them the lead in the 20th minute.

Legetafo doubled their advantage just before the break with a second goal scored by Amanuel Arbo on 41 minutes.

It was 2-0 to Legetafo Legedadi going into the halftime break, and they started the second half with the same drive.

Soulaymane Traore made it 3-0 for Legetafo Legedadi and it seemed like the wheels had come for Sidama Coffee.

However, with 20 minutes to go, they seemed to find some fight, and Yakubu Mohammed pulled one back in the 70th minute for 3-1.

Sidama reduced the tally further in the

86th minute through Mehari Mena to bring the scores to 3-2.

Ethiopia Coffee got out of the gate early with Chala Teshita on target in the 7th minute.

Samuel Saliso equalized for Mekelakeya 16 minutes, and they both went into the break tied at 1-1

In the second half, the game was on a knives edge all through with both sides determined to win, and Biruk Beyene stepped up with a winner on 77 minutes.
