Defence Force defeat for Hadiya Hossana

Defence Force, otherwise known as Mekelakeya got their season going with a 1-0 win over Hadiya Hossana at the Bahir Dar University Stadium.

Defence carried on the form that saw them secure their place in the BetKing Ethiopia Premier League last season.

Minyelu Wondimu was their hero after converting their lone goal from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute of the encounter.

The win puts them in great position to consolidate their position and allows them to challenge for honours this season '

Defence will pull their weight with the likes of Wondimu pulling the strings for Kenean Markeneh, Fitsum Alemu and Bereket Desta, they were so dominant but wasteful.

They also have in their ranks, Teklemariam Shanko and Ahmed Reshid who offer them a great deal of depth

Hadiya Hossana put up a good show and lay feel hard done by the penalty.

Fasil City beat Adama City 1-0 in the other game on Monday also at Bahir Dar University.
