Sundowns eye history as Group F reaches boiling point

It’s all to play for in Group F of the FIFA Club World Cup as teams head into the final round-robin matches, with two spots still up for grabs.

With Ulsan already eliminated, Borussia Dortmund, Fluminense, and Mamelodi Sundowns remain in contention in a race that’s going right down to the wire.

Here are the pemutation ahead of Wednesday night matches that will kick off at 9pm CAT live on SuperSport.

Fluminense will qualify as winners - and meet the Group E runners-up in Atlanta on 1 July - if:

They defeat Mamelodi Sundowns FC, and Borussia Dortmund fail to beat Ulsan HD.

They draw with Mamelodi Sundowns, and Borussia Dortmund fail to beat Ulsan.

They defeat Mamelodi Sundowns, Borussia Dortmund beat Ulsan, and Fluminense finish above Dortmund on overall goal difference, or, if that is equal, overall number of goals scored, or, if that is equal, fair play ranking, or, if that is equal, win the drawing of lots.

Fluminense will qualify as runners-up - and meet the Group E winners in Charlotte on 30 June - if:

They defeat Mamelodi Sundowns, Borussia Dortmund beat Ulsan HD, and Fluminense finish below Dortmund on overall goal difference, or, if that is equal, overall number of goals scored, or, if that is equal, fair play ranking, or, if that is equal, lose the drawing of lots.

They draw with Mamelodi Sundowns, and Borussia Dortmund beat Ulsan.

They lose to Mamelodi Sundowns, Borussia Dortmund lose to Ulsan, and Fluminense finish above Dortmund on overall goal difference, or, if that is equal, overall number of goals scored, or, if that is equal, fair play ranking, or, if that is equal, win the drawing of lots.

Borussia Dortmund will qualify as winners if:

They defeat Ulsan, and Fluminense fail to beat Mamelodi Sundowns.

They defeat Ulsan, Fluminense beat Mamelodi Sundowns, and Dortmund finish above Fluminense on overall goal difference, or, if that is equal, overall number of goals scored, or, if that is equal, fair play ranking, or, if that is equal, win the drawing of lots.

Borussia Dortmund will qualify as Group F runners-up if:

They draw with Ulsan.

They defeat Ulsan, Fluminense beat Mamelodi Sundowns, and Dortmund finish below Fluminense on overall goal difference, or, if that is equal, overall number of goals scored, or, if that is equal, fair play ranking, or, if that is equal, lose the drawing of lots.

They lose to Ulsan, and Mamelodi Sundowns fail to beat Fluminense.

They lose to Ulsan, Fluminense lose to Mamelodi Sundowns, and Dortmund finish above Fluminense on overall goal difference, or, if that is equal, overall number of goals scored, or, if that is equal, fair play ranking, or, if that is equal, win the drawing of lots.

Mamelodi Sundowns FC will qualify as winners if:

They defeat Fluminense, and Borussia Dortmund fail to beat Ulsan.

Mamelodi Sundowns will qualify as runners-up if:

They defeat Fluminense, and Borussia Dortmund beat Ulsan.

Ulsan HD can no longer qualify for the Round of 16.
