Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Fiso Mazibuko, and I was born & bred in Durban, Kwazulu-Natal. I’m a TV presenter for SuperSport.

I grew up loving sport and excelled in cricket and hockey, where I received national and provincial colours. For me, sport is life.

Take us through your SuperSport journey

My journey at SuperSport began in 2013. I was part of a large group that had auditioned for one of two spots at Blitz, and I managed to get the job.

From there I grew from being a SuperSport Blitz reporter to doing live broadcasts as a fully-fledged presenter.

Since then I’ve worked on the FIFA World Cup, the ICC Cricket World Cup, CAF Champions League and the Betway Premiership. I have also covered multiple Proteas men’s tours both abroad and in South Africa.

My journey at SuperSport has been magical and I see myself as an 'academy product' who has gone on to represent the 'First Team'. I’m really proud of how far I have come.

Which sports do you enjoy watching and why?

I love watching football - I’m a big Manchester United fan and I also support Real Madrid and AC Milan because that’s how we grew up. We had teams in all the leagues and that’s what made watching football so much fun!

I also love watching tennis, cricket & I enjoy keeping up with Formula 1, even though Ferrari have been letting me down for years now.

SuperSport turns 30 this year. What was your sports highlight from the past 30 years?

My biggest highlights in the past 30 years include watching Man Utd win the treble in 99; seeing the Proteas lift the test mace, and the amazing local football that we have shown.

To have played a small role in the journey has been a true privilege for me.

Share a personal highlight from your time at SuperSport?

Where do I begin? I remember my first day at Blitz, touring the building and dreaming of more. From that day I swore that I would work hard to be the best.

I have many highlights including covering the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the UAE; working alongside Michael Owen, Jay Jay Okocha and Owen Hargreaves as well as all our amazing local talent in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and being trusted to host prestigious events like the SA Cricket & Rugby Awards.

I don’t take anything for granted and for me the entire journey has been a true blessing and the highlights stretch way beyond all of the above-mentioned ones.

What’s your guilty viewing pleasure?

I won’t lie, I love our offering across the DStv platform, including Showmax. On SuperSport specifically, I love watching the Champions League, Premier League and the Betway Premiership - it doesn’t get better than that.

Looking at all the sports happening in November – what will you be watching?

The new format of the UEFA Champions League makes for tasty viewing and I’m excited for that.

The end of season WTA & ATP finals also make for great viewing, the best of the best doing battle and I’m gonna have my coffee and be glued to those.

I will also be watching the World Test champions battle against India. I’ve been lucky to tour India with the Proteas and those matches are always compelling.
