As the Tuskers prepare for their return to Division 1 of South Africa's domestic cricket structures, Moothee Ram will take on the role of official commercial sponsor of both the men's and the women's professional teams.

The newly named Moothee Ram Tuskers will turn out this season hoping to fight on all fronts in both the men's and the women's competitions.

This sponsorship, which includes naming rights for both the men’s and women’s professional teams, marks an exciting new chapter for cricket in Pietermaritzburg and the broader KZN Inland region. The Tuskers Ladies team will now also proudly be known as the Moothee Ram Tuskers Ladies, further strengthening the commitment to advancing women’s cricket.

Having spent his junior years playing competitive cricket, Sandesh Moothee Ram says that being involved in a professional cricket team is a dream come true.

"I dedicated a large portion of my life to playing cricket and trying to make it as a cricketer," Moothee Ram said. "I had to eventually find an alternative, and I have been successful in business so having a relationship with the CEO Jason Sathiaseelan made this is a simple decision.

"My late father and Jason were heavily involved in development cricket together and this partnership is a continuation of the Moothee Ram family legacy."

There are a lot of plans for what Moothee Ram wants to do with the Tuskers and how he plans on growing the brand both on and off the field.

"We want to aid and assist the Tuskers wherever we can and give them the tools to get them to where they need to be.

"We are involved at all levels from recruiting to junior structures to women's cricket to marketing, we want to assist wherever we can."

For CEO of KZN Inland Cricket Jason Sathiaseelan, it's exciting to have a local company supporting local cricket ahead of what's going to be another exciting season for the Tuskers.

“We are thrilled to welcome Moothee Ram as the new commercial sponsor of our professional teams," Sathiaseelan said. "This partnership represents not only significant financial support, but also a shared vision for excellence, community upliftment, and the growth of cricket in our region.

"Having Moothee Ram’s name attached to both our men’s and women’s teams is a powerful statement of inclusivity and investment in the future of the sport.

"The backing of Moothee Ram will play a pivotal role in enabling the teams to reach greater heights while also reinforcing grassroots and development programmes across KZN Inland.”
