It will be all yellow for Bafana at the World Cup

South Africa will play all three of their Group A matches in their yellow strip, with their new popular green outfit not getting an airing in the first round at the World Cup.
World football’s governing body, FIFA, has released the colours for all of the first-round matches, and Bafana Bafana will be in all yellow while their Mexican hosts will play in green shirts, white shorts, and red socks when the two meet in the tournament’s opening match at the Azteca Stadium next Thursday.

The Czechs will wear red shirts, blue shorts, and stockings.
The last group game for South Africa against South Korea in Monterrey on June 24 will see Bafana back in all yellow while the Koreans will wear red shirts, black shorts, and red socks.

The last time South Africa played at the World Cup finals in anything else besides yellow was the first two matches of the 2002 finals in South Korea, where they were in all white against Paraguay in Busan and Slovenia in Daegu before their third group game against Spain saw them in yellow shirts, green shorts, and yellow socks.
Bafana’s inaugural World Cup appearance in France in 1998, Bafana wore a white shirt with yellow horizontal stripes and green trim, green shorts, and white socks in all three matches they played against the hosts, Denmark, and Saudi Arabia.
