Tau signs for club in Vietnam

South African international Percy Tau has signed for Vietnamese club Thep Xanh Nam Dinh , where he joins former national team colleague Njabulo Blom.
Tau’s signing came just hours before the club was due to kick off the new season with a home game against Hai Phong.
Nam Dinh have won the last two championships in Vietnam and Tau’s signing reflects their desire to make waves in the Asian Champions League this season.
They begin the group stage of the Champions League next month and have been drawn with Gamba Osaja of Japan, Eastern from Hong Kong and Ratchaburi from Thailand.
Tau was an African Champions League winner with both Mamelodi Sundowns and Egypt’s Al Ahly.
No details of Tau’s contract terms were given at the announcement of his signing, which follows the arrival of Blom last month.
Blom had been on loan at Kaizer Chiefs from American club St Louis City but had his contract terminated in January.
The club has also signed English striker Kyle Hudlin, who has played in League One previously, and already has four Brazilians on their books.
Hudlin was named on the bench for Saturday’s league match but neither Blom nor Tau were in the matchday squad.
Previous South African footballers who played at clubs in Vietnam include Jabu Mnguni, Joseph Ngake, Dumisa Ngobe and most recently Diyo Sibisi at Tay Ninh in 2014.
