Gabriele Gravina was reelected to a third term as president of the Italian football federation (FIGC) on Monday.

The 71-year-old Gravina, in office since 2018, received 98.68 per cent of the votes for a third term which expires in 2028.

A former senior banking executive, Gravina chaired Italy's third division Lega Pro from 2015 to 2018.

He was first elected in October 2018 when Carlo Tavecchio stood down following Italy's failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Gravina was then re-elected in February 2021.

Under his presidency Italy won Euro 2020 but failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Azzurri were eliminated from last year's European Championship in the round of 16.
