All you need to know - ICC Champions Trophy 2025
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 marks the tournament's return after an eight-year hiatus and is set to take place in Pakistan, starting Wednesday, February 19th.
As the host nation and defending champions, Pakistan will compete against seven of the world's best teams to retain their title. And as ever, SuperSport will bring you every game live.
The eight teams are divided into two groups for the tournament's opening stage. Each team will play three group-stage matches, with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinals.
Group A: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, New Zealand.
Group B: Afghanistan, England, Australia, South Africa.
The matches will take place in three major cities in Pakistan, and India will be playing all their matches in Dubai: Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Dubai.
The tournament will begin with an exciting opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand.
There will be three games in the first round for South Africa:
- Friday, 21 February against Afghanistan
- Tuesday, 25 February against Australia
- Saturday, 1 March against England
The KO games will be:
- Tuesday, 4 March - semi 1
- Wednesday, 5 March - semi 2
- Sunday, 9 March - final
SA SQUAD
Temba Bavuma will lead a 15-man squad to Pakistan, although a replacement for the injured Anrich Nortje has yet to be named
How to watch
Apart from a dedicated 24-hour channel on Premium (SS Cricket), matches will be broadcast on Grandstand, supplemented by highlight packages for every match (available on Catch Up).
Commentary will be in English, plus isiXhosa and Afrikaans.
