Ghana seek to end Group I on a high

With Ghana leading the charge to qualify for the Fifa World Cup in Group I, the Black Stars will hope to end their qualifying campaign on a high when they take on Comoros in their final group stage match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday night.
Kick-off is at 9:00pm (CAT, GMT+2).
CURRENT FORM
Ghana all but secured their ticket to next year’s showpiece following their impressive 5-0 win over Central African Republic at the Ben M’Hamed El Abdi Stadium in Morocco last Wednesday.
As it stands, Ghana sits at the top of the pile with 22 points to their name, three points ahead of Madagascar. However, the Black Stars boast a superior goal difference to their latest competitors as they head into their final qualifier, eight goals to the good.
Comoros, who accumulated 15 points from nine matches played in Group I, suffered a 2-1 loss against Madagascar last time out.
The Coelacanths will go into their last game sitting in fourth place and share the same amount of points with Mali, who are in third position.
WHAT WAS SAID
With Ghana having one foot in the keenly anticipated tournament, coach Otto Addo lauded the input of his experienced players that were called up to the latest squad.
“We just want to fulfil our expectations. I think the players are experienced enough,” Addo said ahead of their latest set of qualifiers.
“Surely, we also have some young players, but we also have some experienced players who will guide the young players.”
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Ghana: Jordan Ayew – At 34, Ayew comes in with bags of experience as Ghana look to seal the deal. Nonetheless, the former Premier League star will be expected to be the Black Star’s attacker in-chief against their upcoming opponents.
Comoros: Rafiki Saïd – After getting his name on the scoresheet against Madagascar, Said will be quietly confident ahead of their final clash despite suffering defeat last time out. Lively and full of energy, Said will be one of Comoros’ main attacking outlets once more.
