REAL WORLD CHAMPS: Royal Nice Things

SuperSport's latest Real World Champion, Mr NT, changes lives – one dance move at a time
In what world does dance change your life? For Nkosinathi Ngwenya, this question is a non-starter – dance has always and continues to be a transformative force his life and that of those who are in his orbit.
The Soweto born dancer and Tik Tok sensation is the latest SuperSport Real World Champion, an initiative that celebrates the extraordinary triumphs of ordinary South Africans who are redefining what it means to be a champion.
The Real World Champions series, is a cornerstone of SuperSport’s bold and disruptive 'In What World?' campaign, which continue to unveil incredible stories.
This ground-breaking campaign isn't just about athletic prowess. It's about the indomitable human spirit conquering challenges and making a profound impact, proving that the real world is where true greatness shines.
From traditional sports to sport-adjacent contributors in society, Your World of Champions is ardent in its intention to elevate the heroes in all forms. With past honouree and famed lipstick portrait artist Ricollin Moodley paving the way for honourees like the man commonly known as Mr NT.
Mr NT follows on from Simangele 'Smash' Hadebe, Africa’s No 1 ranked champion boxer who uses her fists to fight against opponents and child abuse as the latest Real World Champion in the initiative’s second cohort. The pair will be followed by the truly inspirational marathon runner Ipeleng 'Crazy Legs' Khunou.
INTERNATIONAL ACCLAIM
Mr NT discovered his passion for dance at young age, slowly building his pedigree and notoriety within the Johannesburg dance space. Through his captivating performances on Tik Tok, he has gained wide spread recognition and viral success, earning him the acclaim of international stars like Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown as well as local celebrities such as DJ Maphorisa and Cassper Nyovest.
“The way I love dances – I can’t even explain. It’s like love – you can’t explain love,” his Real World Champion featurette, live on SuperSport’s YouTube channel and on rotation on your World of Champions, begins.
“When I dance, people feel something and that’s me communicating.” And quite a fluent communicator he is in the language of dance. He speaks infectiously of the art form, a sport in its own right that like any duel on a court or field, elicits joy and competitiveness.
COMMUNITY UPLIFTMENT
However, what makes Mr NT a true Real World Champion is how he’s used his light to brighten the path for those in his community and beyond. He is the founder of Royal Nice Things (RNT) – a dance league that provides a platform for young dancers from across Gauteng and South Africa to showcase their talents.
“When we find something we love – we do it. We started Royal Nice Things because we wanted to change the way things are in the township,” Mr NT says of his motivation to create such an initiative.
Many young dancing careers owe their beginnings to the league started in 2020 with youngsters receiving scholarships, sponsorships and recognition for their dance thanks to RNT. In so doing, Mr NT has created a platform that is rooted in the promotion of community development and youth empowerment.
“Kids in the township are looking for love, they’re looking for guidance, inspiration and they’re looking for direction. We didn’t have the opportunity so we have to give it.”
For the children, RNT is not just another dance league but an opportunity to change their lives and broaden their prospects. With most coming from communities plagued by drug use and crime, they now can express themselves in positive ways and truly lay a foundation to pursue their passions.
Mr NT has taken his passion and made sure he passes on the flame. No one left behind, no one left without an opportunity. And it all started with a dance move. Now he is a SuperSport Real World Champion and a beacon of hope for young people across South Africa.
HEROES ARE HERE
“The Real World Champion series is unique in its ability to pull at one’s heartstrings and simultaneously encourage one to do good in their community as well,” says SuperSport CEO, Rendani Ramovha.
“Stories like that of Mr NT are a reminder that heroes can be found in any environment and that the heroism of one is nothing without its impact on others. Whether dance or diving, if it moves the world, it moves us. At Your World of Champions, it prides us to continuously highlight these individuals in our society,” Ramovha concluded.
