Olympic champ Evenepoel secures sixth win of new season

Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel continued his impressive start to the season by securing overall victory at the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana stage race on Sunday.
The overall title was the 26-year-old's sixth victory in just eight days of racing this season, having earlier won two of the five stages.
The Belgian also claimed victories in two individual races and one team time-trial at the Challenge Mallorca event last week.

Evenepoel, who won both road race and time-trial gold at Paris 2024, earned a decisive advantage in Saturday's queen stage when he finished 24 seconds ahead of Portugal's Joao Almeida after a 172km-long mountain stage that included 3 200 metres of elevation gain.
Almeida took second overall at 31sec with Italy's Giulio Pellizzari third, a further three seconds back.
Evenepoel finished safely in the peloton in Sunday's fifth and final stage, won by Spaniard Raul Garcia Pierna.
