Past champions Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson hit ceremonial tee shots Thursday to open the firt round of the 89th Masters.

The trio of golf legends gathered at the first tee at Augusta National to launch shots into the early morning air ahead of the start of competition in the year's first major tournament, with a field of 95 chasing the green jacket symbolising Masters supremacy.
