India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has been happy with her side's preparations for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup as she turns her attention to a first-up contest against Pakistan in Birmingham.

The Asian side completed their final warm-up fixture for the upcoming event when they fell to tournament hosts England by five runs in a tight tussle in Cardiff on Wednesday, with Harmanpreet taking plenty of positives from the match despite the narrow loss.

Keeper Richa Ghosh almost single-handedly guided India across the line with a superb half-century in an unsuccessful run chase, while many of the side's bowlers looked good ahead of the blockbuster fixture with Pakistan at Edgbaston on Sunday.

"We are really looking forward to that (Pakistan match)," Harmanpreet said after the loss to England.

"These two practice games have given us a lot of confidence and even today, even though we lost the game, but how Richa batted and I think that's a big positive for us.

"That's a big belief that if we stay on the pitch, we can turn the game anytime and I think these two (warm-up) games have given a lot of confidence and hopefully we'll play our fearless cricket on our first game."

While Harmanpreet singled out Ghosh for her performance with the bat against England, the experienced skipper bemoaned the fact none of India's other batters could provide much of a contribution as the side fell short in their run chase.

Five of Ghosh's teammates managed to score in double figures, but none were at the crease long enough to give the India keeper the support she needed according to Harmanpreet.

"It's about partnerships and I think we missed the chance and only Richa and a few other players were there to get a few partnerships," Harmanpreet noted.

"In T20 cricket, if you want to win you have to get a few partnerships in the middle overs and today we missed that.

"But it was good to see how Richa batted today."
