AmaZulu FC will be targeting a spot in the Betway Premiership top eight when they host SuperSport United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 8:00 pm CAT.

CURRENT FORM

Usuthu bounced back to winning ways in style when they hammered Mighty Eagles 5-1 in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 clash on 28 January and prior to the match, they had lost 5-0 to Stellenbosch FC in a league match.

AmaZulu are occupying the 10th spot in the Betway Premiership standings - three points behind seventh-placed Stellenbosch FC. A win over SuperSport would see Usuthu climb into the top eight if other results go their way.

Meanwhile, SuperSport are also coming off a morale-boosting win as they claimed a 2-0 victory over Magesi FC in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 match on 28 January as they snapped a three-match winless run.

Matsatsantsa find themselves placed ninth on the Betway Premiership standings - level on points with AmaZulu and they will also move into the top eight if they secure a win over Usuthu and other results go their way.

TEAM NEWS

AmaZulu have no suspension worries coming into this match and they will be boosted by the availability of Wayde Jooste, and Celimpilo Ngema who both missed the game against Mighty Eagles as they were suspended.

SuperSport, on the other hand, will be without Chad international Éric Mbangossoum who will be missing due to a one-match suspension, while Grant Margeman, Thulani Hlatshwayo and Bradley Grobler are still on the club's injury list.

WHAT WAS SAID?

AmaZulu co-head coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi

“We are very happy with this result because we were looking to bounce back after being beaten 5-0 by Stellies.

"So, we wanted to boost our confidence ahead of our game against SuperSport,” Vilakazi said.

SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt

“I thought it was a good honest performance. I thought there was a lot of commitment in the performance like we always do...

"It just happened we got a goal or two. We needed that after the last two defeats,” Hunt said.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Sandile Mthethwa, AmaZulu: The central defender caught the eye with his goalscoring ability by grabbing a hat-trick against Mighty Eagles and he could be key to Usuthu's victory over Matsatsantsa.

Christian Saile, SuperSport United: The powerful winger marked his debut for Matsatsantsa by scoring against Magesi FC and he will be confident of propelling the Tshwane giants to another win.
