MOMENT OF THE WEEK: Four-star Amakhosi unleashed!
Just when last did Kaizer Chiefs light up the scoreboard with four goals? You’d have to rewind to October 2021. But under the lights of the iconic FNB Stadium, the Glamour Boys reminded South Africa why they remain giants of the local game.
In their first-ever league clash against Orbit College, Chiefs were merciless, clinical, and utterly dominant. A 4-1 demolition job not only secured three points but sent a message to the rest of the league: the Amakhosi are back in business.
This was more than just a win - it was a statement. Chiefs scored four goals in a league game for the first time this season, marking their biggest victory so far. The last time they hit four in the PSL? A 4-0 triumph over Chippa United on 21 October 2021.
Orbit College, new to the top-flight, were given a harsh welcome. Chiefs, who had struggled to find the net consistently, suddenly looked fluid and fearless. It was only the second time this season they’ve scored more than once in a match - the other being a 2-0 win in their season opener.
Momentum is building. Chiefs have now won back-to-back league games for the first time since their early-season streak. They’ve also broken a frustrating home drought, winning at FNB Stadium for the third time this season after five failed attempts.
Unbeaten in their last five PSL outings, the team is finally showing signs of cohesion and confidence. The players look happy, the football is flowing, and the fans are starting to believe again.
But just as the fire begins to burn bright, the international break looms—threatening to halt their rhythm. For Chiefs, the timing couldn’t be worse.
