Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first against South Africa in a crunch ICC Women's World Cup 2025 encounter in Colombo.

South Africa, after facing defeat in their opening match against England, have won three in a row, with the last two wins being close chases against India and Bangladesh.

They'd look forward to carry their winning momentum to inch closer to the semifinal berth.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have earned two points due to rain-affected matches against Australia and New Zealand, and have faced defeats against India and England.

The co-hosts will be hoping to produce a win in a crucial clash at home.

Currently South Africa are placed third in the World Cup standings, with three wins, while Sri Lanka are at seventh position.
