Ramovic gets contract extension

Algerian club Chabab Belouizdad has extended the contract of coach Sead Ramovic until 2028 as they battle for both league and cup honours in the North African country.
The former TS Galaxy coach arrived at the club in February from Young Africans of Tanzania and initially signed a six-month contract with an extension.
He has impressed the club’s management after taking the club to the Algerian Cup final where they will meet USM Alger. The date has to be finalised.
They are also challenging in the league. Belouizdad sit in third place in Ligue 1 with three matches left to play, five points behind leaders Mouloudia Alger and one behind second-placed JS Kabylie.
Belouizdad resume their fixtures on June 8 with the last round of the league scheduled for June 20.
The 46-year-old German-born Bosnian coach signed the new deal along with his assistant Mustafa Kodro and fitness coach Hichem Gouzia, who have also been reappointed until 2028.
“This club has history, ambition, and we’re proud to continue building something special here,” said Ramovic, whose squad includes former Bafana Bafana attacker Khanyisa Mayo.
“This club’s natural place is at the top of Algerian football. It’s a great club and should compete for the title every season and we should have an important role to play in the CAF Champions League.
“We must be competitive, respectful and talented in the African continent. We are building a clear football identity with a play style based on fierceness, attack, and possession, a style that reflects grit, determination, and control,” he added.
“I demand discipline, tactical intelligence, and play hard but I also give them the freedom to develop their abilities, express themselves.
“The team I lead will always be hardworking, united, and courageous. We are fully committed to making the next phase, the most successful in the history of the club,” Ramovic said.
He was coach at Galaxy from late 2021 until his surprise resignation last November, with the club at the bottom of the Betway Premiership standings.
Ramovic took Galaxy to a first-ever top eight finish at the end of last season and was in charge for 104 matches in his time in the Premier League.
