Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is gearing up for a challenging encounter as his team takes on Mozambique in an international friendly at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo, on Tuesday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm CAT.

Following a goalless draw against Tanzania last Friday at the same venue, Broos is eager to rotate his squad and provide opportunities for other players to showcase their abilities.

“Tomorrow’s game will feature a completely different line-up from the one that played against Tanzania,” Broos confirmed. “I want to give everyone in camp a chance to express themselves on the pitch.”

The Belgian tactician acknowledges the strength of Mozambique, highlighting their strong Fifa World Cup qualifying campaign and impressive showing at Afcon 2024 in Ivory Coast. “They are certainly not a weak team, and this will be a valuable test for our young players,” he added.

With regular captain Ronwen Williams absent due to his club commitments at the Fifa Club World Cup, Broos has opted to rotate the captaincy. Fawaaz Basadien led the team against Tanzania, while Nkosinathi Sibisi will wear the armband against Mozambique.

“It’s a huge honour to captain Bafana Bafana,” Sibisi said. “I appreciate the coach’s confidence in me, and I’m ready to lead the team.”

As Bafana Bafana continue their squad development, Broos remains focused on evaluating new talent while aiming for a positive result against a formidable opponent.
