Ghana look to overcome the Central African Republic in Morocco

Ghana will look to maintain pole position in Group I and take one step closer to qualifying for the 2026 Fifa World Cup when the Black Stars face the Central African Republic at the Stade d'Honneur in Meknes, Morocco.

The Central African Republic sit fifth out of six teams in Group I, having collected five points from their eight games. Les Fauves have managed only one win, which came against Chad in June 2024, two draws and five losses.
In their September qualifiers, Les Fauves fell 2-0 to both Madagascar and the Comoros and will look to bounce back and end their campaign with another three points added to their tally.
Ghana are well positioned to make their fifth appearance at the World Cup, sitting in first place in Group I with 19 points from eight matches and only one loss.
The Black Stars are three points above second-placed Madagascar and will be looking for a victory to maintain that gap or secure qualification, should Madagascar do anything but win.
In their most recently played qualifiers, Ghana drew 1-1 with Chad before defeating Mali 1-0.
In the first of their two qualifying meetings, Ghana walked away victorious after a dramatic 4-3 win in Kumasi, Ghana, with Jordan Ayew and Louis Mafouta both scoring hat-tricks.
Both sides will be hoping for a more clinical affair on Wednesday as they both hunt victories.

Central African Republic - Geoffrey Kondogbia: Marseille midfielder and captain Geoffrey Kondogbia brings experience and quality to Les Fauves. He has notched one assist and one goal in their qualifying campaign and will be looking to contribute further.
Ghana - Mohammed Kudus: Mohammed Kudus has been on fire for Tottenham in the Premier League, scoring one goal and providing four assists in seven games. The speedster is a lethal threat on attack and could cause problems for the Central African Republic on Wednesday.
