For the first time, Langa will welcome a World test Champion, South Africa’s first Black African test batter, and a captain who remains undefeated in his reign. A journey shaped by resilience, driven by skill, and marked by the breaking of boundaries.
Cricket South Africa Chief Executive Officer, Pholetsi Moseki, shared his sentiments, stating: “We are extremely excited to be afforded the opportunity to take the Mace to Temba’s hometown of Langa.
“Throughout his cricketing journey, Temba has always paid homage to his roots, and bringing the Mace home is a powerful tribute to the community that helped shape his talent.”
This parade marks the first leg of the official Mace Trophy tour, which is set to commence in full this September covering Kimberley, Bloemfontein, Durban, Gqeberha, East London and Cape Town.
Details regarding the full Mace Tour will be communicated in due course.
