Germany’s Celina Sattelkau claimed back-to-back wins on the Sunshine Ladies Tour with a convincing five-stroke victory in the NTT DATA Ladies’ Pro-Am brought to you by Standard Bank at The Links at Fancourt on Sunday.

Sattelkau closed with a final round of 72 to win on seven under par, with fellow German Sophie Witt taking second place on two under after a closing 73.

It completed an incredible start to this season’s Sunshine Ladies Tour for Sattelkau, who won last week’s SuperSport Ladies Challenge.

“Back-to-back wins – yes I am super happy as I did not feel so well about my game this week. My body also did not feel very well this morning. I am happy to have pulled it off,” Sattelkau said.

Sattelkau went into Sunday’s final round with a three-stroke lead and she played incredibly composed golf in testing conditions, dropping only one shot.

“Today was really difficult. It was windy and the pin placements weren’t easy with the firmer greens. It was a big mental and physical challenge. On this course, you can lose a golf ball really quickly. Staying on the fairways was critical today. I made only pars on the front nine, which I was happy about. After the bogey, I knew I could make some birdies on the last few holes, and that is what I did. The birdie on the 18th hole was a great way to finish.”

Sattelkau was also delighted to have a fellow German at the top of the leaderboard.

“I am really happy for Sophie (Witt) as well. We actually shared a room last week and this week. We are really good friends. Finishing first and second is always great so I think we will be sharing more rooms this year,” Sattelkau said.

South African Stacy Bregman (71) tied for third place with Iceland’s Gudrun Bjorgvinsdottir (72) on one under par.
