Italy's Darderi takes third ATP title in Bastad

Luciano Darderi maintained his perfect record in ATP finals as he held off Jesper de Jong to win the title in Bastad, Sweden on Sunday.

The 23-year-old Darderi won 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 against first-time finalist De Jong to add to other clay-court titles he won in Marrakesh earlier this year and in Cordoba in 2024.
"It's amazing. Today I was really nervous from the beginning, even from last night," said Darderi, the world number 55.

"It's my third ATP title, so at 23 years old it's really exciting."
Darderi becomes only the third man with multiple clay titles this year, joining Carlos Alcaraz (three) and compatriot Flavio Cobolli.
