Serbia’s Romano Saincic produced a composed three-round performance to win the Blu Label Unlimited Series 3 at Modderfontein Golf Club, securing a one-shot victory and claiming his first professional title since 2013.

The Bushveld Golf Tour, one of South Africa’s leading developmental professional golf tours, continues to provide aspiring professionals and elite amateurs with competitive tournament opportunities and a pathway to higher levels of the game. The tour has become an important platform for emerging talent to gain experience, earn world ranking points and compete against seasoned professionals.

The tournament got off to a flying start when amateur Luke Truter set a blistering pace in the opening round. Truter carded a bogey-free 65 (-7) to establish a three-shot lead after the first day of competition. Despite his advantage, the leaderboard remained tightly packed, with the next 13 players separated by just three shots heading into the second round.

Saincic opened with a solid 69 (-3), remaining within striking distance of the leaders as the tournament entered its decisive stages.

The second round produced significant movement on the leaderboard. LB Boshoff fired a brilliant 68 (-4), while Saincic added a second consecutive 69 (-3) to move into a share of the lead. Overnight leader Truter dropped a shot but remained tied at the top, resulting in a three-way tie for first place at six-under-par heading into the final round.

With the title still up for grabs, the final round delivered plenty of drama. Challenging conditions saw several contenders surrender shots down the stretch, but Saincic remained steady. His closing round of 72 (Level Par) proved enough to hold off the charge of South Korean amateur Minjun Heo, who carded a final-round 70 (-2) to finish just one shot behind.

Saincic’s winning total of 210 (-6), compiled through rounds of 69, 69 and 72, secured a memorable victory and ended a 12-year wait for a return to the winner’s circle.
