Romania's Begu triumphs at home with Iasi title

Romania's Irina-Camelia Begu ended a three-year wait for a WTA title with victory over Jil Teichmann on home soil in Sunday's final in Iasi.

Begu made a fast start as she won the first six games of the match but had to retrieve a break in the second set before claiming her sixth career title.

The 34-year-old Begu also won at home in Bucharest in 2017. Her last title came in Palermo in 2022.
