Brentford v Chelsea

After their 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge in October, Brentford are looking to complete only their second ever league double over Chelsea, and first since 1938-39.

Chelsea have won just one of their five Premier League meetings with Brentford, losing three of their last four against the Bees (D1). It’s their lowest win rate against any opponent they have faced 5+ times in the competition (20 per cent).

Brentford have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three Premier League games against Chelsea – only against Man City (2021-2023) and Man Utd (2019-2021) have the Blues failed to score in four consecutive meetings in the competition.

Chelsea have won each of their last four Premier League London derby matches, as many as they had in their previous 16 (D5 L7). They last won five in a row between January and May 2021.

Brentford were unbeaten in their first four Premier League games this season (W1 D3) but have since lost 15 of their last 22. Since (and including) their first loss of the campaign, only bottom two sides Burnley and Sheffield United (16 each) have lost more than the Bees.

Brentford have kept just one clean sheet in their 13 Premier League home games this season. They’ve lost four of their last five at home (W1), while their six home defeats overall this term is three times as many as they lost at the Gtech Community Stadium last season (2).

Brentford have conceded 48 goals in their 26 Premier League games so far this season, already two more than they shipped in the whole of 2022-23.

All nine of Neal Maupay’s Premier League goal involvements for Brentford have come in London (6 goals, 3 assists), with six of those coming at the Gtech Community Stadium (4 goals, 2 assists).

Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling has yet to score or assist a Premier League goal in four games against Brentford, the most he’s faced a side without registering a single goal involvement. He’s only faced Manchester United (20 games, 2 assists) and Hull City (6 games, 1 assist) more often without scoring than his four against the Bees.

Cole Palmer has been involved in 16 goals in his last 17 Premier League appearances for Chelsea (10 goals, 6 assists). He’s also had a hand in six goals in his last five London derbies in the competition (3 goals, 3 assists).

Everton v West Ham United, 2 March 2024

After their 1-0 win at the London Stadium in October, Everton are looking to complete their first Premier League double over West Ham since 2014-15 under Roberto Martínez.

Despite losing this exact fixture last season 1-0, West Ham have won two of their last three league visits to Goodison Park. This is as many wins as they managed in their previous 13 away league games at Everton beforehand (D3 L8).

Everton are winless in their last nine Premier League games (D5 L4), having won four in a row before this. Only once have they had a longer run without a win in the competition, going 12 games from the start of the 1994-95 campaign.

Everton have won none of their six Premier League games in 2024 so far, though five of these have been draws (L1). Only twice have they ever had a longer winless league run from the start of a calendar year, going seven games in both 1989 and 2004.

West Ham’s 4-2 win over Brentford last time out ended a six-game winless run in the Premier League for the Hammers (D3 L3). They also scored more goals in that victory than they had in their winless run of six combined (3).

Everton’s Premier League games have seen just 62 goals scored this season, fewer than any other side. Only the bottom two sides Burnley (25) and Sheffield United (22) have scored fewer goals than the Toffees (28), while only the top three sides Liverpool (25), Manchester City (26) and Arsenal (23) have shipped fewer goals than Sean Dyche’s side (34).

David Moyes has lost nine of his 12 Premier League away games against sides he had formerly managed in the competition (W2 D1), although his two wins both came against Everton at Goodison Park with current side West Ham (1-0 in January 2021, 1-0 in October 2021).

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored more goals for Everton against West Ham in all competitions than he has against any other opponent (6). Indeed, his last goal for the Toffees was the winner in the reverse fixture against the Hammers back in October.

Jarrod Bowen is West Ham’s top scorer in the Premier League this season with 14 goals, netting his first career hat-trick in their 4-2 win against Brentford last time out. Only two players have scored more in a single campaign for the Hammers – Paolo Di Canio (16 in 1999-00) and John Hartson (15 in 1997-98).

Fulham v Brighton and Hove Albion

Fulham have never lost to Brighton in seven Premier League meetings (W3 D4); only against Norwich (8) have the Cottagers played more matches in the competition without ever losing, while it’s the most the Seagulls have faced a side in the Premier League without ever winning.

Brighton have lost two of their three previous Premier League away games against Fulham (D1), this after winning three in a row against the Cottagers at Craven Cottage in the Championship from 2014-15 to 2016-17.

Brighton are winless in all five of their Premier League away games against London sides so far this season, drawing two and losing three. They’ve not lost four games in the capital since their debut Premier League campaign of 2017-18 (W1 D0 L4).

Fulham are looking to win back-to-back Premier League games for the second time this season, previously doing so in December against West Ham and Nottingham Forest. However, they lost their last home league game against Aston Villa, last losing consecutively at Craven Cottage in March/April last season.

Only Arsenal (7) and Liverpool (6) have scored 4+ goals in more different Premier League games this season than Brighton (5), with the Seagulls winning 5-0 at Sheffield United in their last away game.

Alex Iwobi’s late winner for Fulham against Manchester United last time out was his fourth Premier League goal of the season, his most in a single campaign. Only once has he scored in consecutive appearances in the competition, doing so in March/April 2016 with Arsenal.

Pascal Groß has either scored or assisted a goal in each of his last four Premier League appearances (1 goal, 4 assists). Only Kaoru Mitoma in March/April last year has ever done so in five consecutive games for Brighton.

Newcastle United v Wolverhampton

Newcastle have lost just one of their eight Premier League home games against Wolves (W3 D3), a 1-2 defeat in December 2018 under Rafael Benítez.

The 17 previous Premier League meetings between Newcastle and Wolves have seen both sides score 16 times, with the only clean sheet in this fixture in the competition coming via the Magpies’ 1-0 win in April 2022.

Of the 17 previous Premier League matches played between Newcastle and Wolves, 11 have been drawn (four Newcastle wins, two Wolves), the highest proportion of any fixture to be played 15+ times in the competition (65 per cent). The reverse fixture at Molineux this season finished 2-2.

Newcastle are winless in their last four Premier League home games (D2 L2), having won each of their previous seven at St James’ Park. They last went longer without a win at home between August and November 2021 (7).

Wolves have won 11 Premier League games this season, already as many as they did in the whole of 2022-23. They’ve won six of their last nine in the competition (D1 L2), with only Manchester City (8) and Liverpool (7) winning more since the start of that run on Christmas Eve.

Newcastle’s Premier League games have seen more goals scored than any other side this season (99 – F54 A45). There have been at least four goals scored in each of their last eight Premier League matches, with only Liverpool ever having a longer such run (9 between September and December 2021).
