Premier League Match Week 10: what the stats say

The Premier League enters Matchweek 10 this weekend with a host of thrilling encounters.
Log leaders Arsenal travel to face Lyle Foster’s Burnley, while defending champions Liverpool will be desperate to rediscover their winning touch when they host an in-form Aston Villa side fresh off a statement win over Manchester City.
Here are the key stats and facts for all the upcoming fixtures.
BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION V LEEDS UNITED
Brighton have never lost in six Premier League meetings with Leeds (W3 D3), both the most they’ve faced a side without losing and the most the Whites have faced a side without winning in the competition.
Leeds are winless in their last nine away league games against Brighton (D3 L6), since a 3-0 victory in November 2009 in League One under Simon Grayson.
Brighton have kept a clean sheet in their last seven home league games against Leeds, their longest run without conceding against an opponent in their history. Meanwhile, Leeds have never gone eight away league games without a goal against another side (also 7 against Liverpool between March 1980 and August 1993).
Brighton’s Amex Stadium is the ground at which Leeds have played most often in their history in all competitions without winning (9 games). In their last seven goalless games there, 30 different Leeds players have attempted a shot without success, three of whom have appeared for the Whites this season – Jack Harrison (4 shots), Pascal Struijk (2) and Dan James (2).
Leeds are looking to record consecutive Premier League victories for the first time since November 2022. They’ve followed up their last six Premier League wins with a draw and five defeats since they last won consecutive games.
Brighton and Hove Albion have kept just one clean sheet in their last 21 Premier League matches and have only kept a clean sheet in 17 per cent of their games under manager Fabian Hürzeler (8/47), the lowest ratio of any of the four managers to take charge of the Seagulls in the Premier League.
Leeds had 26 more shots than their opponents in the Premier League during October (48 for, 22 faced), the third-best positive differential behind Arsenal and Man City (both 27). Despite this, the Whites conceded more goals (5) than they netted (3), with their opponents enjoying a 23 per cent shot conversion rate, while Leeds converted just 6 per cent of their attempts.
Substitutes have scored 16 Premier League goals for Brighton and Hove Albion in 2025 – only Brighton themselves in 2023 (20) have ever seen more goals scored via subs in a calendar year (excl. own goals).
Sean Longstaff has two assists in the Premier League this season for Leeds, only ever registering more in one campaign (4 in 2022-23 for Newcastle). Longstaff has created 2.5 chances per 90 minutes in 2025-26, comfortably his best in a season in the Premier League.
James Milner – who made his Premier League debut in November 2002 for Leeds – assisted Charalampos Kostoulas against Man Utd for Brighton. This was both the biggest gap in age between a player assisting a teammate (21 years and 146 days) and the first time in Premier League history a player had assisted another having made their debut before the scorer was born (Kostoulas b. May 2007).

Arsenal have won 23 of their last 24 Premier League games against promoted sides, including the last 13 in a row. The only exception in this run was a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest in May 2023.
Burnley have won each of their last two Premier League matches – the Clarets haven’t strung three wins together in the top-flight since April 2022 under Michael Jackson, while manager Scott Parker last did so in April 2019 as Fulham boss.
Arsenal have won their last four Premier League matches, last enjoying a longer winning streak between April and August 2024 (8 in a row). Their last three wins have all been without conceding, last doing that in four in a row in April/May 2014, with Mikel Arteta starting all four of those wins.
Burnley have never won a Premier League match against a side starting the day top of the table in 12 attempts (D5 L7). Their last top-flight win against a table topping side was in October 1975, when they beat QPR 1-0 with a Frank Casper goal.
Arsenal have scored 11 set piece goals in the Premier League this season, two more than any other side, while these goals make up 69 per cent of their overall goals (11/16). Only Nottingham Forest (3), Leeds (4) and Wolves (4) have fewer open play goals than the Gunners (5).
Arsenal’s Eberechi Eze has been involved in eight goals in his last 13 Premier League appearances (6 goals, 2 assists), while against newly promoted sides the England international has six goals and four assists in his last 15 games.

It’s Brentford highest per centage in a season since 2022- 23 (16.6 per cent), while for Palace it’s their highest since 2019-20 (14.9 per cent).
Excluding own goals, none of Brentford’s last 42 Premier League goals have been scored by an English player – only Wolves (75) are on a longer current run without an English scorer.

Wolves have won eight of their 18 Premier League games against Fulham (D6 L4), only beating Tottenham and Southampton (9 each) more often in the competition.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are the only side yet to win in the Premier League this season (D2 L7). Wolves failed to win their opening 10 games last season (D3 L7) and no side in top-flight history has started consecutive seasons with 10 winless matches.
Fulham conceded a 90th-minute winning goal in their 2-1 loss to Newcastle United, their third of 2025. Overall, the Cottagers have conceded 23 winners in the 90th minute of Premier League matches, with only Spurs (27) and Aston Villa (26) ever conceding more.

While no side is on a longer losing run in the Premier League than Liverpool (4), no side is on a longer winning run than Aston Villa (4). He’s ended on the winning side in 19 of the 21 matches he’s scored in (90.5 per cent), the sixth-best ratio of any player to score in 20+ games in Premier League history.
This could be West Ham striker Callum Wilson’s first-ever Premier League appearance against one of his former clubs – he’s played 75 games since 2022-23 for Newcastle and West Ham, but never faced Bournemouth.

If he plays, this will be Phil Foden’s 200th Premier League appearance. He would be the 15th player to reach this milestone for Manchester City, and the youngest to do so for the club (25y 158d on the day of the game).
Erling Haaland failed to score for just the second time in the Premier League this season in Man City’s 1-0 loss at Aston Villa last time out. Meanwhile, of the 23 sides the Norwegian has faced in the competition, only against Newcastle (447) does he have a worse minutes-per-goal average than he does against Bournemouth, netting just once in 439 minutes against the Cherries.

Sunderland have won five of their nine Premier League games so far in 2025-26 (D2 L2), just one fewer than they managed in the entirety of their last top-flight campaign in 2016-17 (W6 D6 L26). The Black Cats are looking to win three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since May 2014 (a run of four).
Everton have lost 2-0 against Man City and 3-0 against Tottenham in their last two Premier League games. They’ve not lost three in a row under David Moyes since October 2011, while they last did so without scoring under the Scot in October 2005 (6 in a row).
