For the past three decades, SuperSport has been more than a channel; it's been the heartbeat of sport in Africa.

Since launching as a standalone 24-hour channel in 1995, we've brought you every triumph, every tear, and every unforgettable moment that has defined our nation's sporting history.

We didn't just broadcast the games; we lived them with you, becoming the World of Champions.

"Our 30-year journey is a testament to the enduring power of sport to unite, inspire, and elevate our people," says Rendani Ramovha, CEO of SuperSport.

"From the impossible dreams that became reality to the moments of sheer grit and determination, we've been there to capture every emotion.

"This anniversary is not just a celebration of our history, but a profound thank you to the fans who have made us who we are. Your passion fuels our purpose, and we are committed to continuing to tell the stories that matter most."

This month, SuperSport celebrates 30 years since launching as a standalone 24-hour channel

GOOSEBUMP MOMENTS

Think back to the moments that gave you goosebumps.

SuperSport was there for the Springboks’ iconic Rugby World Cup victories, bringing you the pure elation of 2007, the grit of 2019, and the historic four-star win in 2023.

We were there for the emotional scenes as the Webb Ellis Cup was hoisted, time and time again.

We were with Bafana Bafana every step of the way, and with the Proteas' too, in the most thrilling moments, from the famous "438" game against Australia to their recent World Test Championship win in England.

SuperSport has been the front-row seat to the heroics of our athletes.

We were there when Chad Le Clos did the unthinkable, defeating the legendary Michael Phelps to claim Olympic gold in the men's 200m butterfly at London 2012.

We cheered as Desiree Ellis's Banyana Banyana claimed continental glory and as our incredible Olympians and Paralympians brought home medals that shone with the spirit of a nation.

And in a landmark move in 2007, we secured the broadcast rights for the Premier Soccer League (PSL), bringing fans unmatched local football coverage.

CHANGE FOR THE GOOD

We like to feel our commitment to innovation is what sets us apart.

We were the first to bring you sports in High Definition (HD), with our inaugural broadcast at the 2008 Olympic Games.

For the 2010 FIFA World Cup, we didn't just cover the event; we built our first multi-purpose HD studios, delivering a broadcast that captivated the globe.

Our drive to innovate continued in 2016 when we launched seven dedicated HD channels to bring you every angle of the Rio Olympic Games.
