"Unbelievable," said Syme, who made his European tour debut in 2017. "I just felt so much better this week, I felt really ready to do it, and I'm so, so happy I managed to do it."

"I suppose you don't really know you can actually do it until you have done it.

Syme padded his lead with a birdie at the second. Lagergren birdied the seventh but bogeyed the ninth before Syme dropped a shot at the 14th - his first bogey in 33 holes, since the 16th on Friday.

Lagergren dropped shots at the 15th and 17th before a consolation eagle at the last.

South Africa's Jayden Schaper finished third at four under after a final round of 69.
