Malawi ready to welcome Africa to the Africa Netball Cup

The Netball Association of Malawi confirmed on Wednesday that preparations are well under way as Malawi gets ready to host the Africa Netball Cup 2025 at the Griffin Saenda Sports Complex, Lilongwe from 8 - 14 December.
The tournament, held under the leadership of Africa Netball, will bring together some of the continent’s top national teams to a true celebration of Africa talent, passion and unity.
Nine nations, including Malawi, South Africa, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia and Eswatini - will compete for the continental crown.

With stars like Joyce Mvula, Mary Cholhok and Shadine van der Merwe in action, fans can expect thrilling matches and unforgettable moments.
On the ground, Malawi is putting the final touches on the upgraded courts, training facilities and event logistics.
The LOC, volunteers, communities and local partners are already showing incredible support - setting the stage for a warm and memorable hosting.
LOC chairman Limbani Matola shared his excitement for what the tournament means to the country.
“We are truly excited to host this event. It is a beautiful opportunity to showcase Malawi’s sporting talent and the warmth of our people,” he said.
This tournament will give our fans a chance to enjoy top class netball right here at home and it will inspire young girls across Malawi to believe in themselves and take up the sport.”
He added a heartfelt call to partners and businesses: “We are also encouraging companies to come on board and support us so that together we can deliver a tournament that Malawi can be proud of.”
The Netball Association of Malawi has reaffirmed its commitment to the growth of both women’s and men’s netball, emphasising the sport’s inclusivity and the importance of strengthening participation and visibility across all genders - an effort that aligns with Africa Netball’s ongoing campaign for netball’s inclusion in future Olympic Games, where showcasing gender inclusivity will be key to advancing this global ambition.
