In what was a tough affair at the Seshego Stadium, Magesi and Marumo Gallants saw out a 1-1 draw in their latest Betway Premiership assignment on Saturday afternoon.

Sekela Sithole put Gallants in the driver’s seat in the 56th minute, however, a penalty call saw Mcedi Vandala level matters in the 61st minute.

Magesi looked lively during the first 10 minutes of the game and immediately put Gallants under pressure through goal-scoring attempts by the likes of Edmore Chirambadare and Vandala.

Gallants struggled to get into the game midway through the first half, however, Dino Ndlovu produced a couple of efforts from range which did nothing to trouble the opposition goalkeeper.

Marumo continued to see most of the ball toward the end of the first 45 while Ndlovu made his presence felt inside the Magesi penalty area, particularly through a headed attempt in the 48th minute which was saved by Elvis Chipezeze.

The away side made their intentions known after the restart and opened the scoring in the 56th minute as Sithole added his name to the scoreboard with a left-footed shot from the middle of the box.

Magesi were then awarded a penalty moments before the hour-mark, following a hand-ball offence inside the area.

Stepping up to the spot, Vandala made no mistake with a well-taken left-footed shot.

While Gallants dominated the ball possession count throughout the second half, Magesi often fell short in the final third.

The game eventually fizzled out at the Seshego Stadium with Magesi and Gallants sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
