CAF club competitions draws to be held on Thursday

South Africa’s trio of clubs in continental club competitions will learn the identity of their quarterfinal opponents when the draws for the African Champions League and African Confederation Cup are held in Doha, Qatar on Thursday.
Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are in the Champions League draw and Stellenbosch in the last eight of the Confederation Cup.
With Pirates having finished top of their Group C and Sundowns runners-up in Group B, there is a 33.3 per cent chance they could face each other in the quarterfinals. The Confederation of African Football does not have any restrictions on teams from the same countries being drawn against each other.
Pirates could also face Algerian side Mouloudia Alger or Pyramids of Egypt.

Aside from the Buccaneers, Sundowns could be up against Sudanese side Al Hilal or Esperance, who knocked them out in last year’s semifinals, when new Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso was in charge of the Tunisian outfit.
Pirates will be away in the first leg of their tie and Sundowns at home when they are played on April 1, and vice-versa for the second that will be played on April 8.

CAF has switched the game to a Tuesday, to avoid them coming too close after the Fifa international break where players struggle to get to their clubs after national team duty.
Stellenbosch were runners-up in their Confederation Cup, pool and so will face one of three group winner, either Simba from Tanzania, USM Alger of Algeria or defending champions Zamalek from Egypt.
