Keeper back for Stellenbosch’s trip to Tanzania

Stellenbosch will have first choice goalkeeper Sage Stephens back for Sunday’s African Confederation cup semi-final in Tanzania but striker Ashley Cupido did not make the trip.
A calf injury kept Stephens out of the Tuesday’s Betway Premiership victory over AmaZulu while Cupido went off early in the game at the Danie Craven Stadium after a hamstring tear.

A proper diagnosis is still to be done because of the swelling.
“He said he felt a pop so when that happens it's probably a minimum six weeks out,” said coach Steve Barker.
Stephens was kept on the sidelines on Tuesday as a precaution, the coach added,
“The reason he didn't play was to just to let him fully recover but he seems to be good and has recovered from it. Obviously, he’s been really big for us this whole season and it’s important for him to be available.”

Stephens made several key saves in the 1-0 aggregate triumph over holders Zamalek of Egypt in the quarter-final of the continental competition.
Stellenbosch face Simba in Zanzibar on Sunday (kick off 3pm, live on SuperSport) in the first leg of their semi-final clash with the return set for Durban on Sunday April 27.
