Brumbies move to top after keeping Force scoreless
The Brumbies kept the Western Force scoreless to record a 24-0 win and move to the top of the AU domestic rugby competition.
The Brumbies are now four points clear of second-placed Reds after two early tries were followed by two second-half scores in the scrappy and one-sided affair.
The Brumbies scored twice in the opening five minutes, both efforts long-range tries that stunned the Force and exposed their woeful defence.
The first came when Pete Samu broke from the scrum and with halfback Joe Powell set up a move that ended with Tom Wright scoring 70 metres downfield.
Two minutes later the Brumbies were at it again, exploiting the same side of the field with Samu once again starting the move, and Powell put Irae Simone away for another long-range try.
The Force tried to get into the game, but for the wealth of possession they had they couldn't get onto the scoresheet.
The Brumbies scored twice in the second half, with flanker Will Miller going over in the corner after a long build-up, and then replacement hooker Connal McInerney scored in the 65th minute from a rolling maul.
