Tom Jordan will start at fly-half in place of the still sidelined Finn Russell for Scotland in their inaugural Nations Championship match against Argentina in Cordoba on Saturday.

Russell, 33, has not fully recovered from the calf injury that kept him out of the latter part of Bath's domestic English Prem campaign but could be fit to face South Africa, with the Scots playing the world champion Springboks in Pretoria on July 11.

But it will be New Zealand-born Jordan, 27, who will wear the No 10 shirt against the Pumas, with the Bristol playmaker also a capable full-back

Glasgow's Kyle Rowe has been named at full-back, with Blair Kinghorn also rested following his appearance for Toulouse in their French Top 14 final win against Montpellier last Saturday.

There is also a rare start in the centres for Northampton's Rory Hutchinson, who partners captain Sione Tuipulotu in the continued absence of Huw Jones (foot injury).

Both Pierre Schoeman and Scott Cummings are set to earn their 50th caps.

Edinburgh's South Africa-born prop Schoeman is joined in the front-row by Ewan Ashman and Elliot Millar Mills, while Glasgow's Cummings partnering the returning Jonny Gray in the second row, with Edinburgh's Grant Gilchrist rested.
