City on the up in Motsepe Foundation Championship

Cape Town City are growing into one of the teams to beat in the Motsepe Foundation Championship currently, as the new list of midweek fixtures roll on.
Sitting in fourth position after 15 matches played, City have come leaps and bounds since their slow start to life in South Africa’s first division.

Rolling on to January, City now find themselves on 25 points, just two points behind log leaders Milford, who suffered two defeats in their last two matches.
With City taking on the University of Pretoria on Tuesday afternoon, the Mother City outfit could bag their fifth win on the spin, while they are also on a six-match unbeaten run.
At the bottom end of the table, 16th placed Black Leopards will face Upington City on Wednesday afternoon, with both sides hoping to end their negative spell of results.
Upington City, who are in 10th position, suffered back-to-back defeats against Hungry Lions and Venda Football Academy in their last two games respectively.
Black Leopards on the other hand, accumulated just 10 points so far this season and are three points away from safety. Overall, Lidoda Duvha recorded four losses and one draw in their last five Motsepe Foundation Championship ties.
