Suryavanshi helps lowly Rajasthan end IPL campaign with win
Fourteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi led the Rajasthan Royals to an emphatic, consolation six-wicket victory with 17 balls to spare against the Chennai Super Kings in their IPL match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday
Both teams had been eliminated from playoff contention well before the game, but Rajasthan were at least able to assuage their run-chasing problems in the campaign as they gobbled up CSK’s 187-8 to reach 188-4 in just 17.1 overs with Suryavanshi belting a quartet of fours and sixes in his 57 from 33 balls.
No fear and pressure 🙅

Despite a blistering 43 from 20 balls from 17-year-old CSK opener Ayush Mhatre the men in yellow succumbed to 78-5 before Dewald Brevis revived their fortunes with 42 from just 25 balls (2x4, 3x6) in partnership with Shivam Dube who contributed a more measured 39 from 32 balls.

But the target was rendered feeble by opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (36 from 19 balls) while Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson book-ended Suryavanshi’s innings with a composed 41 from 31 balls with three fours and a brace of sixes.
The coup de grace, however, was applied by the stylish Dhruv Jurel who caressed an unbeaten 31 from only 12 balls to make the victory look even more facile.

The result confirmed dismal seasons for both teams with CSK certain to finish bottom of the 10-team log, even if they win their final league match, while Rajasthan will finish in ninth place having completed their 14 league matches.
