The CSA 4-Day Series match between the Momentum Multiply Titans and Goldrush Boland at SuperSport Park in Centurion seems to be heading for a dreary draw after play finally resumed after tea on Saturday’s day three, with the visitors moving their first innings onto 214 for six at stumps.

After winning the toss on a weather-affected day one that saw a late start due to a wet outfield and then early close after bad light and rain intervened, Boland were 159 for five at stumps.

The entire day two was then washed out, as well as the morning session on day three, before play looked like it would resume after lunch.

However, bad light again delayed the start, followed by a short rain squall that meant no play was possible before tea.

Finally, after tea, the match was able to resume, with Pieter Malan (90no) and Ethan-John Cunningham (31) extending their sixth wicket stand to 44 runs.

Dayyaan Galiem then snagged the only wicket of the day as he had Cunningham caught by Phehlukwayo as they slipped to 175 for six.

That brought Shaun von Berg (29no) to the crease and he looked sprightly as he clubbed three fours and a six during the 47 balls that he faced, scoring all of the runs in an unbeaten 29-run partnership with Malan, taking them to the close of play.

Iffy weather is still on the cards for the final day, so it will be interesting to see if a full day of play is possible.

But it will also be interesting to see how both teams approach it, as the Titans will be nervously keeping an eye on the Warriors vs Dolphins game in Gqeberha as the Dolphins could rise above them on the 4-Day series log and qualify for the final if things go their way.
