Itoje remains absent from England squad ahead of France clash

England captain Maro Itoje will miss Friday's non-cap international against France after being left out of their latest squad.
Fatigued after a gruelling season, Itoje is a candidate to be rested for all or part of England's July tour, which includes tests against South Africa, Fiji and Argentina.
The second row's omission from the 33-man group to face France comes after he was left out of last week's initial training group by England boss Steve Borthwick.

Itoje, 31, has played more than 30 matches in each of the past two seasons, including leading the British and Irish Lions to a series victory over Australia last year.
Players from Bath and Leicester have become available following their defeats in the English Prem play-offs, resulting in the addition to the squad of Itoje's fellow second rows Ollie Chessum, George Martin and Charlie Ewels.
Bath flanker Sam Underhill has been omitted amid the possibility he might need an operation for an undisclosed injury.
Ben Spencer and Ollie Lawrence are also absent, but Max Ojomoh is recalled in the hope of playing a role against France in Vannes.
